Welcome to Rock Creek, Minnesota
By 1874 Rock Creek Township had been organized, and got its name from the little stream running through it. Rock Creek Township was incorporated on January 1, 1971, becoming the City of Rock Creek. The first meeting of the new municipality (the City of Rock Creek) was held at the Village Hall on January 5, 1971. Acting Clerk Shirley Peterson gave the Oath of Office to the following officers; Mayor - Lawrence A. Peterson. Councilmen - Fred Engler, Berl House, Lonnie Johnson and Arthur Schultz.
City Council meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 7PM at the City Center.
The Planning Commission was formed on May 6, 1983. Planning Commission members are appointed and work under the direction of the City Council. The first meeting of the Planning Commission was held at the current City Center on July 13, 1983 and the following people were appointed as members; LeRoy Nagel, Richard Gossen, Arthur T. Schultz, Lonnie G. Johnson, Jim Kirchberg, Roger Cummings, Sylvia Raudabaugh, Attorney Kevin Hofstad and Shirley Shoberg as Secretary.
Planning Commission Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7PM at the City Center.
